Hepatitis is a disease that affects your liver. The inflammation of the liver causes cirrhosis and can eventually kill you if it’s left untreated. The awareness of this disease is too low and the World Hepatitis Alliance is trying to change this. With their fourth annual World Hepatitis Day they are promoting awareness of the disease and trying to ensure that people who are a risk are aware of the disease and what causes it etc.

The campaign has already kicked off in 64 countries and on the 19th of May the official campaign begins.

Over 500 million people are infected with the disease and most of these are unaware that they are and therefore spread the disease without knowing it. The disease is 100 times more infectious than HIV/Aids and is unfortunately not as well known.
