Chlorine treated tap water may be less safe than bottled water
Health June 20th, 2008The rising price of bottled water is making some people go back to drinking tap water but others are still concerned by fears of health risks reported by some health experts. One solution could be water coolers at home or at work. Water coolers can offer relatively cheap, safe, and properly filtered drinking water. A water cooler can provide gallons of fresh water for pennies per glass. The main issue with tap water is that it’s treated with chlorine, a substance known to cause harm to some people.
Chlorine of course is used to kill bacteria and other harmful microbes in tap water, but many people are allergic to chlorine and can unintentionally cause their body harm by drinking chlorine-treated tap water. The volume of chlorine in the water supply varies depending on where you live, but almost all tap water is treated with some chlorine.
